England had seven starts and scored five times her first year as a Blue.
In April 2017, she signed a new contract with Chelsea- Only a few months later, England went to Liverpool on loan. With the Merseyside team, England’s career kicked off for real and during her time in Liverpool, she established herself in the Women’s Super League. Return to Chelsea
England returned to London for the 2018/2019 season only to show what she had learned at her time in Liverpool. Even though that season was a disappointment for the Blues as they finished third in the WSL table, England’s season with her 12 goals in 18 games was a great success personally and individually for the striker. What is remarkable is that she was WSL’s second-highest goal-scorer and it will take a long time for Chelsea fans to forget her brace in the Continental Cup final against Arsenal that gave Chelsea their first title in that tournament ever.
Head Coach Emma Hayes wasn’t shy to call Bethany England the best English No.9 in the country. Last season England scored 21 goals in all competitions and was later awarded as “The Player of the season” in the WSL.
When England signed a new four-year contract with Chelsea in July 2020. Chelsea’s general manager Paul Green words were: “We’re delighted to have extended Beth’s contract, as she has been outstanding in the last 18 months, playing a big part in the team’s success.
